Released on July 15, 2009, Jack in the box is the 2nd album from Teppei Koike. Reach #15 in the first week sales (Oricon ranking) with 10,580 copied sold.
I quite like the name of this album, as its differ from his previous single and album (usually its derived from one of the track). Jack in the box being chosen as Teppei wants to bring some surprises to the listener with a more great song and I think he really made it!
Truly, Jack in the Box is different with his previous album, Pieces. All the songs in the album are more preferable and likeable to be heard. Actually, for me this is the best album. The track in the album more to the fast and upbeat song but yet the ballad song still included in the album to give the variety.
With some help from the other composer and songwriter, each song in the album is different and has its own uniqueness. But, still most of the song composed by him.
The album start with Aishitemo; song writer and compose by Teppei himself. Its the fast song that bring the fresh image to the overall album. 2nd track in the album, Airstyle also use a fast tempo as like as the first song, but this song are more enjoyable and use a lot of BGM that give the flavour to the song. The teamwork of Ishiwata Atsushi and Itikawa Makoto are fantastic.
Namioto, 3rd track in the album, a ballad song with the use of soft piano and an acoustic guitar, the song that been song writes and composed by Teppei himself. I really love this song, the melodies are so lovely and nice, and his voice is splendid. This song also had been used as the theme song for Pharmaceutical acnes CM.
Track 4, My Way is also one of my favourite songs in this album. Frankly, this blog’s name derived from this song. The fast song with a variety of BGM with a nice and unique melody, this song really had caught my interest. Bunch of congrate to Hallelujah for composing this song.
5th track , Kimidake, song from his previous single – one of my favourite songs. Ok..Jump to Track 6; Owatta hazu also a song that being composed by Teppei himself. Nothing much to say ‘bout this song as it same like the other Teppei’s pop song before and this song is a good song.
Another ballad song, I’m Here in Track 7 of the album, also become one of my favourite. The song has been composed by Itikawa Makoto with the collaboration of Leonn as the songwriter. For me, their collaboration is superb, this song is so lovely and Teppei really excellent in singing this song. His voice is so charming and wonderful and we can feel his emotion through the song.
Smile, 8th track of the album also among the best song, and I like this song even the first time I hear it. The fast tempo and a happy song – hearing this song really make me smile. Teppei really has shows his improvement in composing. Track 9, Shinkuro song writing by Ishiwata Atsushi with the cooperation of Tanaka Hidenori for composing the music. For me its a good song, the music are splendid.
The last track of this album; Dont stop the music, a teamwork song of Teppei and Asada Nobukazu. The fast tempo and upbeat song that can bring the fresh and happy emotion to the listeners, with the usage of electrical guitar as a main instrument – its also a great song. Their works are amazing.
Whoosh… as I go through, this album can be say as the best and fabulous album has been created- most of the songs in the album are great and splendid. I sorely recommend each of Teppei’s and WaT’s fans to have all the song in this album – you will not regret to have it.
