Synopsis

Asato (Teppei Koike) who resembles an ordinary youth actually has an unknown ability, which is to transfer wounds of others to his own body.

Takeo (Hiroshi Tamaki) who fascinated by Asato’s special power takes him out to the local arcade to test his ability. Abruptly the two get separated and Asato is accosted by a gang of thugs to rob him of money. Takeo had a scuffle with the thugs and injured his hand, With gratitude, Asato healed Takeo’s hand by shift the pain and injuries to himself.

Over the time, Asato who carried an untold past develop the habit of collecting little children’s injuries; just to see their smiles in return. Takeo faces dilemma towards the way his buddy utilize his ability. Thus, this is the beginning of a strange yet subtle friendship.

Review

This movie released on 2008 based on the best selling novel by Otsuichi.

This movie is so interesting, the story lines are different and it’s quite amazing for the Japan novelist to create such a great story. Event though, the story line are quite slow due to the lack of BGM that bring the effect of the film, but yet it still good. Each plot has been write in the good way and made me wanna know what will the next plot of the story. The plot of the story maybe a bit lumpy and slow at the beginning but it becomes more and more interesting.

For me, the best part of this Drama is when Asato tries to help all the injuries peoples from an accident without concern his own life as he really esteem to kill himself and Takeo comes to help and advice him. During this times, we can see how pure their friendships are and I really like their acting during this times.

The selection of Teppei and Hiroshi to be the lead actor in this film are something that accurate. Both of them are good in plays their own role and characters. Their friendship its something that are so astonishing and sometimes I evaluate to myself can I be a true friend like them?. This is the best J-Movie I had ever seen and frankly I had been re-watch it again and again.
